Accompanied by Olmo Cuarón, Guillermo del Toro’s “Pinocchio” Takes Home the Oscar

March 12, 2023, is an unforgettable date for the world of animation because Guillermo del Toro won the Oscar for “Best Animated Film” with his acclaimed film “Pinocchio”. This is a significant event for the industry since it reaffirms the value of animation in the film industry where they are appreciated as great hits of the artistic genre and not only as children’s films. “Pinocchio” is a film that took several years to produce and that displays Guillermo del Toro’s talent and preciseness.

We could see at the red carpet, at the award show and even in the afterparty, the Mexican filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón, accompanied by his children Tess Bu and Olmo Cuarón. Such presence is a display of the support and accompaniment of the great personalities of Mexican filmmaking, as well as of the enthusiasm of the whole industry for winning the Oscar.

Specifically, this event must have been incredibly significant for Olmo Cuarón who may go by unnoticed, but, he is nourishing his private and artistic life with these experiences. The reason for this is that he has been interested in the world of animation for years, learning from his father and other examples, such as the family friend Guillermo del Toro.

Olmo Cuarón has been able to pave his own path in art, even without depending completely on his father’s fame because what speaks most about to most about him is his work. He has created animations and short films that show his great creativity and technique; currently we can enjoy his talent in his YouTube channel or Instagram. There is no question that with the path he is making for himself, we will not be surprised when we see him in the future on the same red carpet but for his own creations.
